LGT Venture Philanthropy - iCats Program

The Fellowship

Each year, LGT Venture Philanthropy selects a restricted number of applicants for fellow positions for its Fellowship Program. Fellows differ from all other positions in several aspects: They receive a more intense training before the assignment, regular mentoring support throughout their stay with the organization and are enrolled in a regular reporting process.

Whereas all other positions are posted continuously throughout the year and have individual application deadlines, fellow positions are posted once a year for all philanthropic organizations and social enterprises and have the same application deadline. All fellows start their assignment in February for a duration of 11 months. Applications for fellow positions 2010 are closed.

Reporting

At the beginning of each fellowship, the fellow and supervisor at the organization define a result-oriented work plan for the entire duration of the assignment. The organization is responsible for managing the fellow. In a monthly phone call with your iCat Manager, you will discuss your challenges and progress, based on the tasks and results outlined there. Brief written reports according to a template provided by LGT Venture Philanthropy are to be submitted each month (1-2 pages), after six months (10 pages), and a final report at the end of the fellowship (20 pages). On the one hand, these reports will help you to consolidate your key learnings and achievements, and to understand your main challenges; on the other hand, they will enable your iCat Manager to give you more focused mentoring support.
