Types of engagement

Depending on your availability and depth of engagement, there are three different options to participate in the iCats Program: Types of engagements

LGT Venture Philanthropy iCats Fellowship Program

The iCats Fellowship Program is a structured program with a restricted number of participants. Main characteristics are:

  • Fixed 11 month engagement from February - December each year
  • On-site and full-time
  • To prepare Fellows for their long engagement, a 4 day orientation workshop will be held in Switzerland
  • Work with senior management and project teams
  • Mentorship by an LGT Venture Philanthropy Investment Manager throughout the engagement
  • Fixed remuneration package to cover basic costs of living during the engagement
  • Application period: June-July for next years' class

Examples: Social Franchise Strategist, PR and Communication Consultant, Financial Analyst, Business Developer

iCats Consultant positions

Consultants provide consulting, training or implementation services for specific projects or capacity building initiatives within the organization. Main characteristics are:

  • Flexible duration between 3 to 12 months
  • On-site, full- or part-time
  • Remuneration is subject to individual negotiation between the iCat and the organization
  • Application period: Positions are posted throughout the year according to the organizations' needs
Examples: Develop financial systems, create measurement & reporting system, develop adequate IT system, provide legal advice, training in time management, leadership, project management, sales, IT, finance, HR

iCats Mentor positions

Mentors support the senior management team with advice through regular phone conferences or on-site meetings. The mentor guides an important ongoing process on a medium- to long-term basis. The characteristics of these positions are:

  • Flexbile frequency and duration (subject to the needs of the organization)
  • Off-site, part-time
  • Pro-bono activity
  • Application period: Positions are posted throughout the year according to the organizations' needs

Examples: Support the implementation of a business plan, help the management team restructure the organization, advise in strategy development, create or translate marketing material, implement a website, organize fundraising event
